Explore North is an expedition equipped sailing yacht and she is the ideal platform for a number of outdoor activities. We love to work with people who enjoy nature on it own premises. Here are a few things we appreciate doing:
Mountain climbing and trekking
Our yacht provides the ideal way to reach remote and inaccessible places. We can provide support for mountain climbers on serious expeditions, floating base for hikers who want to reach peaks that otherwise is hard to reach. The coast of Norway has a number of both areas and peaks that offer high alpine climbing such as Romsdalen, Stetind, Hamarøy, Lofoten and Lyngen.
On non-technical hikes we guide the trips our self, but on more advanced climbing trips we strongly recommend you use a local guide in our network. Then you get the advantage of both local knowledge and security.
We have the capacity to carry all the equipment needed for your climbing expedition.

Wildlife and Marine life viewing
The destinations we visit along the Norwegian coast are among the world’s wildest and most biologically rewarding: Killer Whales, other whales, seals, puffins, glaciers, underwater life, eagles can be spotted on any given day.
Specialized tours can be arranged for both scientific and recreational study.
Kayaking
If you are a keen kayaker and want to explore parts the Norwegian coast in safety and comfort Explore North can provide you with exactly that. We give you guidance in where to paddle, serve as mother ship with food and beds, and set up base camp well in advance of your landfall for the night.
Kayaking in 24-hour daylight will most definitely give you an experience of a lifetime. The kayak is the ideal craft for watching wildlife unobtrusively: Seals, birds, whales fish and some of the most beautiful archipelago in the world is there for you to enjoy.

Photograhpy
Explore North is the perfect platform for photographers, cinematographers and artists to capture the beauty of this region with its midnight sun in the summer and, for the even more adventurous, the Aurora Borealis in the winter. Not only is the landscape extraordinary, but also the wildlife is also extremely attractive for photographers. Various birds, mountain landscapes, local folklore and even whales can be caught by your lens.
